Cunupia FC and Queen’s Park Cricket Club both won on Sunday to ensure that FC Santa Rosa’s sole hold of the top spot in the T&T Super League was a brief one.

Down at St Anthony’s College Ground, Morne Coco Road, Westmoorings, the competition’s leading scorer Kevon Woodley netted a first-half double to lead Cunupia FC past Petit Valley & Diego Martin United 4-0.

Woodley found the back of the net in the 28th and 31st minute to carry his season tally to 12 goals while Michael Darko and Kerri Mc Donald added second-half strikes in the 59th and 86th minute respectively for the winners, now with 24 points from 11 matches, the same as FC Santa Rosa and the Parkites.

However, FC Santa Rosa leads on goal-difference ahead of Cunupia, followed by Queen’s Park.

The Parkites got a 77th-minute item from national defender Yohance Marshall in a 1-0 triumph over a determined RSSR FC at St Mary’s College Ground, Serpentine Road, St Clair in Sunday’s other match.

One day earlier, defending champions, Guaya United and Matura ReUnited both won to maintain their top five positions as well.

At Dibe Recreation Ground, Long Circular, St James Gary Glasgow netted as early as the second minute and Keston Frontin, in the 79th to lead Guaya United to a 2-0 win over host Club Sando Cultural Roots United.

Kerin Vincent found the target twice, in the 20th and 58th to inspire Matura ReUnited to a 3-1 defeat of Police FC at Valencia Secondary School Ground, Valencia.

Kadeem Riley pulled a goal back for Police in the 62nd minute, but Isaiah Lee made certain of all three points for Matura ReUnited with a 70th-minute strike.

Elsewhere, J’Deeem Parris scored two and Shaquille Smith the other for the University of T&T in a 3-0 defeat of Bethel United at UTT Campus, O’Meara Road, Arima and a short distance away at Youth Training Centre, Ground, Arouca, Nathan Julien’s goal a minute into time added on at the end of the first-half was enough for YTC to beat San Fernando Giants.
