Contractor robbed of $40,000 in Rousillac

A Rousillac contractor on his way to pay his workers was held up and robbed of $40,000 on Friday. Police said around 2.45 pm, Dipchand Narine, 72, of Farm Road, Aripero, was about to leave his home when two men accosted him. One of the men fired a shot from a gun but the bullet missed Narine. The men then ordered Narine to hand over his cash which they took and ran off with. Cpl Siew is investigating.

 

Meanwhile, South Western Division police issued 62 tickets during an overnight roadblock exercise.
