Mom, daughter claim rape by relative

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

A mentally challenged mother and daughter went to Point Fortin Police Station yesterday and reported that they were sexually assaulted at their home. The women aged 36 and 57, told police the suspect, a close relative, assaulted them as they slept during the early hours of the morning.

But when they were taken for a medical examination yesterday, a doctor confirmed that only the 57-year-old woman had been sexually abused. Swabs taken from the daughter could not determine whether she was assaulted. Sgt Jones of Point Fortin Police Station is continuing investigations. (RS)
